A saddle stool promotes a natural sitting position through pelvic tilt, which exercises the back muscles and reduces pressure on the sit bones. It encourages an active working posture and improves core stability. The elevated sitting position reduces strain on the legs and keeps the body in an upright, ergonomic position. Saddle stools are ideal for dynamic work, promote circulation and increase concentration and productivity. They are also easy to move and store.

Sitting on a saddle provides a natural tilt of the pelvis that causes us to automatically sit upright and can reduce muscle tension in the back, neck and shoulders. It encourages the back to adopt an upright posture. In addition, the sitting bones are less loaded and the load is distributed more on the inside of the legs and feet. The active character of this chair forces you to adopt a more ergonomic upright posture. In doing so, you immediately train the muscles in the back and abdomen during the day.
A saddle stool makes you more active and mobile: you are agile, roll smoothly from side to side and allow easy alternation between standing and sitting. Working with a saddle stool lets you adopt an ergonomic posture in an active and healthy way.
Dynamic sitting, or staying mobile within your work environment provides many benefits. In addition to the proper support an ergonomic office chair can offer you, it is also important to stay active. This can be done by walking regularly or with the use of a saddle stool or a cheaper sit up ball. In addition they are very compact and can easily be stored away for a while.
Various studies show that sitting or standing in one position for long periods of time is stressful for the body and can eventually result in various physical complaints. This seat ensures that the user sits naturally in a balanced and upright position. Due to the saddle shape, the user changes his or her sitting position unnoticed, which we call an ergonomic working posture.
When we sit for long periods in a standard chair with the usual 90-degree angle of the legs, we are quickly inclined to slump down so that the vertebrae no longer remain neatly in the natural s-shape. The load on the spinal discs then increases unilaterally. This increases the risk of back problems. With a saddle stool you effectively sit a little higher than with a normal seat. The correct sitting height with a saddle stool is the one where the thighs fit well to the shape of the saddle. This positions the ideal hip angle of approximately between 125 to 135 degrees, which also distributes body weight evenly over the surface of the saddle and feet.
Because of the higher seat, the work surface will also need to be adjusted higher. Sitting also puts more pressure on the feet and inside of the legs than sitting on an office chair. Our advice is to alternate sitting on a saddle stool with standing, walking or sitting on an office chair.
