The saddle shape and 33-degree inclination puts the hand in a relaxed position, reducing muscle tension in the neck, shoulders and forearms. The design supports the hand position and uses a magnetic platform for the little finger, reducing friction. Prof. Dr. Erik Peper shows that the Newtral mouse causes less muscle tension than regular mice.

The Newtral "Gripless" ergonomic mouse was developed after EMG (electromyogram) studies among professional computer users, who experience to a greater or lesser extent physical complaints of neck-shoulder, arm, wrist or hand (such as RSI/CANS). The research shows that, due to the supportive saddle shape of the mouse and the inclination of 33 degrees, the hand comes to lie in a relaxed position and the fingers click down relaxed. As a result, demonstrably less muscle tension is experienced in the neck, shoulders and forearm. Optimal efficiency (physically) is achieved when the Newtral mouse is combined with a compact keyboard, allowing work within the width of the body.
Reduction of wrist and forearm rotation: From the notch where the thumb rests to the little finger, the mouse has a descending inclination angle of 33 degrees. This ensures that the wrist and forearm remain in a neutral position during mouse use.
Less stress on the wrist joint: Because the palm rests on the included platform, the mouse user is "forced" to make larger movements during mouse use. This prevents repeated small wrist movements, which can overload the joint.
Reduced pressure on the wrist: The soft cushion on the platform, on which the palm of the hand rests, distributes the weight of the hand and thus removes unnecessary pressure on the wrist.
Prevents "pinching" the mouse: The shape of the mouse follows the natural curve of the hand, with the hand resting on the mouse while moving the cursor. Because the entire hand controls the mouse, "pinching" the mouse between thumb and pinky finger is a thing of the past. With this, the tension in the hand decreases.
Reduction of friction between the little finger and the desktop: The design of the platform, which is magnetically connected to the mouse, ensures that the little finger is supported. This prevents friction between the little finger/side of the hand and the desktop.
Improved precision while "mousing": The design of the Newtral mouse gives even more peace of mind in the fingers, making the click buttons easier to operate. An improvement in efficiency is noticeable, as the fingers and hand no longer fatigue during mouse use.
EMG/Myofeedback specialist Prof. Dr. Erik Peper, shows that there is a clear difference in muscle tension when using a regular flat mouse and with the Newtral ergonomic mouse. The Newtral mouse clearly puts less strain on the neck and shoulder muscles and the tension in the hand and fingers decreases significantly when using this mouse.
