Humanscale is known for its history of collaboration with legendary designer Niels Diffrient, who designed many of our office chairs, including the iconic Freedom chair - the first self-adjusting chair without manual knobs and levers. Humanscale also collaborates with other esteemed industrial designers, including Don Chadwick and Todd Bracher. Its innovations have won more than 200 prestigious awards since 2007 and have been featured in several museums, including the Museum of Modern Art.

They use fewer parts and recyclable materials in our products, such as aluminum and steel, to reduce their potential impact. In particular, our work chair uses a complex weight-sensitive reclining mechanism that provides intuitive functions, reducing the total number of buttons, levers and parts needed to make the chair work. The "environmental design" process considered our environmental concept at every stage of product development. The durability and expandability of the product is also considered - the products we produce are durable, so there is no need for frequent replacement.
